The Nike Kyrie 4 has been an unexpected crossover for the Swoosh. For their next special release, the Kyrie 4 celebrates the All-Star point guard’s birth year with a new “Year of the Monkey” colorway.
The Nike Kyrie 4 is an incredible shoe. The latest addition to Kyrie Irving’s signature sneaker line performs smoothly on the court, while also providing a sleek, yet aggressive look when styled well. The line has grown vastly popular in recent years, leading Nike to and Kyrie to spend much of their creative time now working on special makeups for the fans. With several successful Quickstrike releases already heralded by the Celtic’s guards followers, Nike has unveiled their next special edition shoe with Kyrie Irving. The “Year of the Monkey” Kyrie 4 was designed to celebrate the young star’s birthday as well as his birth year. Based on Irving’s Zodiac sign, the shoe takes symbolism and patterns from Zodiac mythology and applies them to the upper. Dressed all in black, these patterns add both visual and physical texture to the mesh. The outsole on this colorway contains all of the eye-catching colors used on the shoe, which are shown on the teeth extending up around the toes. The blue, red, and orange stripes there are mirrored by monkey graphics on the tongue in blue and red.

The limited edition Nike Kyrie 4 “Year of the Monkey” is scheduled to release on April 14th, 2018. Currently, little information about this pair is available, though because of the special nature of the shoe, we can expect them to release in short numbers for $120.
