Nike is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Air Max 98, meaning we will almost definitely see a handful of new colorways, along with several OGs. One new iteration is the Air Max 98 QS “Thunder Blue” releasing soon.

Last weekend, Nike dropped two original colorways of the Air Max 98, the tour yellow variation, and the red, white, and blue “Gundam” color scheme. More recently, a previously unseen colorway has surfaced in official Nike images, as well as more in-hand shots. The pair is understated, yet over the top. From a distance, the shoe appears as a plain grey upper and white midsole, with red Swoosh and Air branding. However, upon closer inspection, the upper is completely covered with Nike logos from heel to toe. The lowest level of paneling that runs above the sole is decked out in the simple NIKE logo back to front, end to end. This pattern is reiterated in the areas around the tongue and collar, with another panel between them covered in Nike Swooshes in all directions. The red branding around the shoe adds flare to the otherwise grey upper, while the navy blue detailing around the laces provides the blue from the name.
