The Nike Air Max 97 is set to take on a wealth of exciting new colorways this year. After many have recently leaked, the latest to be revealed is a new neon “Rainbow” color.

The return of the Nike Air Max 97 last year was a smash hit. The combination of OG releases and brand new color schemes helped the shoe to reinvigorate it’s original audience, as well as recruiting a younger generation of fans. Both standard and premium models of the 97 performed well on the market, largely selling out and becoming hard to get until some end-of-year restocks blessed everyone with a chance at a pair. Now, after several upcoming 2018 colorways have already leaked, a new “Rainbow” edition appears to be coming to the Air Max 97 soon. The new iteration combines a soft off-white base with a selection of stand-out colors, making the shoe eye-catching, but not overly flashy. Some interesting material choices also make this shoe a must-have, like the blue corduroy tongue and a lower panel that houses the red and white mini-Swoosh logo. To break up the deep blue, neon green eyelets run over the tongue, while a bright red pull tab extends from the top. As usual, the top two lines of the upper will feature 3M reflective taping, this time in a soft peach color when not in direct light. Below these layers are more strips of bright color, with a neon green wave resting atop another red one. Finally, the interior Air Bag in the sole and heel tab share the same bright red hue as other details of the shoe. The inner lining of the Air Max 97 “Rainbow” appears to be also made from corduroy, though this section remains a plain white.
