The Air Max 97’s burst of popularity after last year’s anniversary has reinvigorated love for the silhouette. Nike has been adding new colorways to the lineup since the re-release last year, like the upcoming “Patent Leather” version coming soon.
The Nike Air Max 97 is one of the most eye-catching shoes of all time. The wavy lines circling the upper have inspired visions of speed and grace among runners and shoe collectors since their debut in 1997. Now, after the 20th anniversary of the silhouette, Nike is continuing to add more fresh colorways and new looks to the coveted runner. The latest enhancements to the AM97’s design come in the form of patent leather, running all around the bottom of the upper. The shoe begins with a grey mesh base layered with the usual Air Max 97 piping and wave-like lines. The patent leather around the sole comes in shiny black, sticking out from underfoot. Finally, this new colorway sits atop a simple white sole.

The new Nike Air Max 97 colorway with patent leather accents has not yet been scheduled for release. This pair will retail for $160, and likely release from both Nike SNKRS and select retailers.
