Early this year, Nike introduced the Air Max 270 cole unit into their arsenal. Since then, the signature 270 model can be found everywhere, from high-end boutiques to outlets. Now, Nike has come up with the 270 Futura, a new silhouette coming this Fall.

Nike’s Air Max 270 airbag has been a hit since it first launched back in February. As the brand’s tallest Air unit to date, the heel piece has thus far only graced two models; the Air Max 270 and the Air Force 270. Now, Nike has a third model coming that makes use of the latest in Air technology, and it could not have been timed better. The Nike Air Max 270 Futura plays into the current trends of bulky, 90’s-esque retro runners. Similar to the Nike ACG Dog Mountain from a few weeks ago, the new Futura is a sleek retro-inspired sneaker perfect for casual wear. Seen here in a bold blue iteration, the new Air Max begins with a thin mesh base for a flexible and breathable first layer. Next, the upper is layered with suede and leather-looking materials to help retain the shape and add support. The Futura is currently expected to release in a handful of colorways in the Fall, though currently, the blue, white, and grey colorway is the only one available in official images.
