The Air Jordan 3 “Katrina” was originally created for charity to benefit Hurrican Katrina survivors. Now, almost 12 years later. Jordan Brand is releasing the extremely limited pair to the public, but not without a hometown celebration first.

The Air Jordan 3 “Katrina” caught the eyes of Jordan fans everywhere when the first samples appeared over a decade ago. Mixing two of fans’ favorite Jordan 3 colorways, the “Katrina” stands out with its mostly white base with red accents. The elephant-print camouflage is present on this Jordan 3, though the Nike Air branding on the heel is unfortunately not.

The release date for the Air Jordan 3 “Katrina” was first revealed earlier this year. However, Jordan Brand top-tier partner Sneaker Politics recently announced a chance for fans to grab a pair slightly early. This Saturday, April 28th, the pair will shut down the block at their New Orleans location for a special block party. At the event, customers will be given the chance to purchase the new Air Jordan 3 “Katrina” ahead of time, and hassle-free. Currently, very little is known about the new “Katrina” Jordan 3. Many Jordan fans are excited about the debut release of a twelve year old shoe, so getting a pair will most likely be tough.
