Vans are always working on something fun down at their facilities in Southern California, creating unique takes on their classic silhouettes. This month, this sees the brand teaming up with Fucking Awesome for a collection of five classic Authentics.

Fucking Awesome is not exactly a household brand name, though you’ve probably heard of them. Founded nearly 20 years ago in New York City by skateboarding legend Jason Dill, FA has built their image on enjoying design and clothing without the worry of outside opinions. Over the years, they’ve worked with dozens of high-profile brands on collaborative projects, and one name that stands above the rest is Vans. The Anaheim-based skate company has produced several footwear collections in partnership with the NY label, continuing this year with their latest work.

The new Fucking Awesome x Vans project is fairly simple as far as these kinds of collaborations go. Using the fan-favorite classic Authentic as their canvas, Dill and his team have created five unique color schemes for the shoe, each printed with an enigmatic Fucking Awesome all-over pattern. Color options include a simple black & white, orange with black lettering, green with cream accents, red clashing with navy blue, and finally a simple plain white version.

The new project between Fucking Awesome and Vans will release first in-store on May 11th, 2019, followed by an online drop on May 15th. Each of the five colorways will likely retail for slightly more than their standard Authentic counterparts, and release from both Vans and select retailers.
