Vault by Vans takes on some of the brand’s most ambitious collaborations month after month. This week, Vans unveiled a new project with Disney, centering on Mickey Mouse and featuring the work of four famous artists.

Vans and Disney have teamed up for plenty of projects over the last few years, each time with an exciting new twist. For their latest project, the two are focusing on Disney’s most famous character, Mickey Mouse. To help them bring the heat on this collaboration, Vans has tapped four different artists to bring their own unique perspective to four different pairs of the Sk8-Hi LX.

Vans and Disney have drafted an All-Star team of collaborators for their new Mickey Mouse project. Consisting of artists and designers that have all worked with Vans before, the short list includes Taka Hayashi, Mister Cartoon, John Van Hamersveld, and Geoff McFetridge. The shoes vary in materials and color, each with a different twist on the legendary cartoon mouse. The McFetridge and Hamersveld pairs cast Mickey in a new and different look, showing his image both deconstructed, and through the use of shadows. The Mr. Cartoon and Hayashi pairs place the Disney mouse in interesting places to evoke a certain feeling or imagery, like Mickey cruising down the street in a convertible or taking in the California landscape from a hot air balloon. In addition to the artist’s work being displayed on the shoes, each pair is accompanied by a t-shirt with a simplified version of their work.

The latest project between Disney and Vault by Vans is scheduled to release on August 25th, 2018. The retail prices for each pair will vary between $78 and $100 based on the materials used for each, and release from both Vans and select retailers.
