Nike’s new React Presto has enjoyed a successful launch so far, thanks in part to the throwback character-themed colorways. Now, the first collaboration on the lifestyle silhouette has surfaced, taking on Buddhism-inspired look from Japan’s BEAMS.

If you haven’t heard of BEAMS in Japan; pay attention now. The Japanese based streetwear & fashion retailer can somewhat be described as a department store for culture, though to label it as such would be criminal. BEAMS has proudly made a name for themselves by curating an enormous six-story building in Japan with each floor housing a different subject. The sections feature everything from fashion and brand items to arts and crafts, as well as brands of all kind. One of these brands is Nike, a global powerhouse in sportswear and footwear technologies. To celebrate their ongoing relationship, Nike and BEAMS have teamed up for the first collaborative take on the new Nike React Presto.

BEAMS’ take on Nike’s rehauled Presto silhouette delivers two clean colorways in one. Splitting both shoes down the center, the outer side of each one is made in a basic white colorway, broken up only by black Swooshes and an orange midsole insert. The inner side of each shoe, however, features a wide assortment of bright colorways, namely red eye-catching red & orange tones for the upper while purple, green, pink, and blue fill in the rest of the React Presto’s details.

The latest work from Japan’s BEAMS and Nike is scheduled to release later this week on May 25th, 2019. The Buddhism-centric “Dharma” collection will be available from BEAMS stores and their website, while a wider release has not yet been announced. The split-tone React Prestos will retail for a casual $120, while the matching t-shirts will be available for approximately $35.
