The collaborations between Nike and Japanese streetwear boutique atmos are known for eccentricity and extremely limited availability. Now, for Air Max Day 2018, another fan favorite, the Animal Pack will make a grand return in a 2.0 version.
The atmos x Nike elephant print pack is one of the most exciting and hard-to-find Air Max shoes around. The use of Michael Jordan’s iconic cement pattern cemented the shoes legacy as one of the greatest sneaker collaborations of all time. Now, atmos is back for Air Max Day 2018, and they are bringing their famed “Animal Pack” from 2006 with them. The shoes are covered from heel to toe in crazy prints made to match animal fur. Some of the patterns used include cheetah spots, both zebra and tiger stripes, leopard print, and a cow-leather looking material. These materials are used to construct an Air Max 1 and an Air Max 95, with the 95 featuring a more eye-catching, wavy mix due to it’s heavily layered upper. However, this re-release of the pack will feature minor changes to the uppers on both shoes. Previously, a cream-colored pony hair had been used for large plain panels like the toe box, and it can be noted that this color has been switched to black for the updated release. The pack is highlighted by red Nike/Air Max branding on the sides, insole and tongue, as well as green Air bags in the soles.
ATMOS X NIKE ANIMAL PACK 2.0 RELEASE DATE
atmos and Nike are expected to bring back their “Animal Pack” on March 14th of 2018, shortly before Air Max Day. The Air Max 1 and Air Max 95 from the pack will retail for $160 and $200 respectively, a mark reminiscent of premium Air models.
