Japanese brand Asics’ running shoes are the stuff of legend amongst sneaker enthusiasts. Sought-after due to how they make long runs infinitely more comfortable, the AsicsTiger team has taken that idea to heart this year with their latest silhouette, the Gel-BND.

Asics’ Gel technology has long been the pinnacle of their sports performance shoes and continues to evolve almost yearly to provide better comfort and support. This year, Gel is diving deep into the lifestyle game, pushing a brand new triathlon-inspired sneaker that is based heavily on design cues from the legendary Gel-Lyte V and Gel-Diablo silhouettes.

The brand-new Asics Gel-BND might be one of the best new all-around silhouettes from the Japanese running brand in several years. The mixed material upper takes some obvious inspiration from the Gel V & Diablo shoes before adjusting them slightly for a much sleeker, bouncier looking shoe. The shoe begins with a loose-knit mesh base layered with smooth suede on the lacing system and mudguard, as well as small leather accents towards the heels. The brand new midsole tooling is an homage to the Gel Diablo’s bulbous sole unit, fitting in perfectly with the semi-chunky trend sweeping the sneaker scene at the moment.

The Asics Gel-BND is available now in a variety of colorways directly from AsicsTiger, with a retail price of just $80. Several color options are available for both men and women, with plenty more likely on their way throughout the year.
