Earlier this year, word leaked online that Chicago’s Don C would be debuting his own signature Jordan Brand silhouette. This week, at the brand’s quarterly preview, they finally unveiled the Legacy 312, a mix & match sneaker made from all the best J’s.
The new Don C x Air Jordan Legacy 312 shoes take inspiration from some of the best Nike and Jordan sneakers around. For the upper, the Don began with the most iconic sneaker ever, the Air Jordan 1. For his new “312” silhouette, the Jordan 1 is clearly visible in the toe box, side paneling, and ankle collar as they are all taken directly from the OG Jordan. Then, elements of the Air Jordan 3 heel and sole are added for a 90’s look. The heel tab from the 3 is present, complete with Nike Air branding, along with the extra supportive layers just along the lower parts of the upper. The sole of the new Don C Jordan Legacy is pulled from the Air Jordan 3 as well, including the first ever visible Airbag on a Jordan shoe. Finally, the midfoot strap from the OG Nike Air Trainer is added to the toe box for superior lockdown.
When Jordan Brand officially unveiled the Legacy 312 this week, many sneakerheads were surprised. The initial colorways for the shoe are somewhat shocking. Early samples and leaked images showed basic blue and red pairs, as well as a simple black and white make up. However, when the July launch rolls around, the Don C’s Legacy 312 will take on 3 retro-inspired looks. The new colorways include the white/Volt scheme from the Air Command Force, the Navy/Ginger tones from the Air Trainer 3, and the infamous Hot Lava look from the Air Tech Challenge.
DON C X AIR JORDAN LEGACY 312 “NIKE” PACK RELEASE INFORMATION
The Don C’s Jordan Legacy 312 triple pack is scheduled to release on August 11th, 2018. The three “Ode to Nike” colorways will retail for $160 a piece and are expected to drop at both Nike and select retailers.
