The Nike Doernbecher collection is back. After a massively successful collection late last year, Nike is now celebrating 15 years working with the hospital by rereleasing several of the most popular styles, like Jordan Dark’s Air Jordan 6 “Gametime”.

Nike’s Doernbecher reissue campaign is off to a fantastic start this week. While we have already seen the rereleased iterations of the Free Run 2, Air Max 95, Air Foamposite, and Dunk High, the most exciting release is yet to come. Jordan Dark first released his Doernbecher Freestyle Air Jordan 6 collaboration back in 2009, creating one of the few Doernbecher shoes that would go down as a universally-accepted fantastic new color scheme. Now, Jordan is living cancer free, and ready to see his sneaker release once again. Decked out in a navy blue suede upper with deep red accents to represent his high school colors, Jordan also included a number of personal details to commemorate his own Nike shoe. Most noticeably are the 06/08 and 04/09 embossed on either side of the shoe. These dates represent Jordan’s first and last days of chemotherapy. Additionally, the large #1 embroidered on the back showcase Jordan’s placement at the top of his high school class, as well as the highest GPA. Finally, the inside of each tongue is embroidered with a personal motto that when viewed together read “What time is it? Gametime!”
