Jordan Brand is expanding their “Wings” collection this year. The last pair added to the arsenal was the Air Jordan 1, and this year, they’re taking a different direction. Check out the Chicago-inspired Air Jordan 5 “Wings” launching this Summer.
The Air Jordan “Wings” series is expanding this year, this time using the Air Jordan 5 as the canvas. The line is made in partnership with Jordan’s Wings Foundation, which donates money to educational purposes to help empower the youth. Previous iterations of the shoe have come in dark colorways that wear over time to reveal a golden sheen, but this year things are going to be a little different. The Air Jordan 5 Retro is inspired by street art in Chicago and features an all-over graffiti graphic with classic images from the city. Additionally, the usual mesh inserts on the sidewalls have been replaced with a plastic feathered piece and cast in a translucent green tone. Finally, the lace lock comes in the same green tone with winged carvings.
AIR JORDAN 5 RETRO “WINGS” RELEASE INFORMATION
The Chicago-themed Air Jordan 5 Retro is expected to release sometime this October, though no official date has been announced. The new “Wings” shoe will likely retail on the higher side, in the $190-225 range.
