On the 20 year anniversary of when Richard Clay “Rip” Hamilton lead the UConn Huskies to the 1999 NCAA Championship, his Air Jordan 14 PE’s will get a public release.

Rip Hamilton first joined the NBA in 1999, completing 14 total seasons. Most notably, he was with the Detroit Pistons for nine years, and for three of those he was an all-star. Just as he was known for wearing a face mask in the NBA, he was also a leading player on the UConn Huskies in the 1999 NCAA tournament, which this Air Jordan 14 celebrates.

Rip Hamilton’s latest Air Jordan features a red and white color scheme. While it most closely resembles the “Candy Cane” colorway, the key difference between those and the PE version is that they will have some sort of marking or message stating that it is the Players Edition. In any event, PE sneakers are rarely released to the public, so this will be an exciting addition to the Air Jordan spring lineup.
