The Air Jordan 11 is one of the most popular sneakers of all time. The latest issue of the “Space Jam” colorway was Nike’s best shoe release of all time, a good sign that this year’s upcoming return of the legendary “Concord” version will be just as popular.

The rumors appear to be true. The Air Jordan 11 Retro “Concord” will return this year, to the delight of fans of both Jordan himself and his shoes. The tuxedo-like colorway first debuted on the feet of Michael Jordan in May 1995, during an NBA playoff game. The original shoes featured a number 45 on the heel, Mike’s jersey number after coming back from retirement. The new Air Jordan sneaker was immensely popular when it finally released later that year, although the consumer pair came with Jordan’s real #23 on the heel. The Air Jordan 11 Retro “Concord” begins with a white mesh base, surrounded by the signature black patent layer above the sole. The Jumpman logo and other accents around the shoe are also dyed in black, and the legendary sneaker is finished off with a translucent purple outsole. This touch of color, along with others on the sole and throughout are what give the shoe its name, due to the patented “Concord Grape” color. This week, the Jordan 11 Concord made its debut slightly ahead of schedule, launching in mens’ sizes on the SNKRS app early in the morning. However, they are still set for a release in full family sizing in December.
