adidas is going crazy with the dad-shoe trend in 2018, and they have plenty up their sleeve for the coming year. First up is the adidas Yung-1, a somewhat forgotten Three Stripes model that’s been updated to fit the current style.

The adidas Falcon Dorf first debuted in 1997. The shoe was constructed using the brands design palette at the time, and was built to be a basic in-line running shoe. Most recognizably known simply as the Falcon, this shoe faded away as styles changed and new, more innovative product was born. Now, adidas is bringing their Falcon back, this time under the guise of the Yung-1. The upper of the shoe is largely the same as it’s inspiration, featuring multiple layers of different materials to achieve a bulky but well put together look. The new Yung-1 is constructed from varying types of suede and mesh to provide a premium and comfortable feel, and the adidas Performance branding from the Falcon has been removed and replaced with an Originals Trefoil on the tongue. This is to note the change of category the shoe will launch as, indicating that it will be a lifestyle model, and will be built for comfort and look. The sole of the Yung-1 has been updated from it’s predecessor, maintaining much of the segmented shape but adding aerodynamic lines to add texture. So far, three colorways have been spotted, a bright orange, a triple white, and mock-ups of a second colorway that will drop with the recently leaked adidas x Dragon Ball Z collection that will take after the character Frieza. The shoe is expected to debut sometime in June 2018, though no exact date has been specified yet.
