Kanye West surprised the sneaker world when he updated the adidas Powerphase, a training shoe from the 1980’s, with his famous Calabasas branding. The shoe will be back later this year in a new Black colorway after the recent release in Grey.

The Powerphase originally released in 1983 as a part of adidas’s workout catalog. Offered in both high and low forms, the Powerphase did well but was not widely sought after like the Superstar or Stan Smith. In 2016, Kanye West revived the silhouette, replacing the “Powerphase” logo with his own Calabasas brand, and reissuing the shoe with luxurious leathers. The off-white colorway of the shoe saw multiple limited releases throughout 2017, culminating with a worldwide release of the highly anticipated grey colorway. With the masses finally able to secure a pair of Yeezy Powerphase with ease, the next pair has appeared on the horizon. Coming in a blacked out color palette, this next iteration of the Powerphase will have Yeezy fans drooling. The simple silhouette is draped in stunning black leather, capped off by a green adidas badge, and gold Calabasas lettering.
