adidas has an interesting new look for the Ultra Boost. Early this week, a new version of the silhouette surfaced on the brand’s website, featuring a premium build and all-white colorway. Check out the “Celebrating Black Culture” Ultra Boost, dropping in February.
The adidas Ultra Boost will celebrate Black History Month in February. This week, the new silhouette surfaced on the brand’s website, finally giving us a closer look at this new uncaged model. The Ultra Boost typical TPU cages have been removed entirely, and lace eyelets are added to the shoe for a more durable lacing system. The heel section of the shoe appears to be made from premium materials, including an embossed suede heel counter. However, the strangest part of the new Ultra Boost is the color scheme. Dressed in triple white, the “black culture” Ultra also features a basketball logo on the insole, with the “CBC” abbreviation emblazoned across. This week, we have our first look at the second colorway of the Ultra Boost “CBC” pack, which gives us a slightly better idea of what adidas is presenting here, though the questionable first colorway still remains. In addition to the cream colored pair, a triple black makeup will also be releasing, with the addition of a red suede heel counter and purple Primeknit underlays.
We are not quite sure what adidas has going on with their upcoming special Ultra Boost release. First shared on our Twitter and Instagram yesterday, this look at the adidas Ultra Boost “Celebrating Black Culture” threw a lot of people off guard. Many found it odd that a shoe supposedly celebrating black culture would be entirely white- save for the black rubber outsole underfoot. Needless to say, this is all very strange, and we’re hoping adidas breaks their press embargo to explain to the community just what the hell is going on here.
