The adidas Speedfactory initiative is off to a great start. Two city-specific pairs have already launched, but are now releasing globally alongside the fresh New York City pair. The worldwide release was an unexpected surprise, and the shoes are available now.

adidas Speedfactories are starting to pop up around the globe. After the facility in Germany produced the first two consumer-release shoes, the AM4LDN and AM4PAR, the American factory in Atlanta finally opened its doors.  The Speedfactory process is quite impressive. The upper for each shoe is built lightning fast, and attached to the Boost midsole with zero glue involved, meaning the fit feels seamless. With two shoes already in the hands of consumers, adidas surprised us this week with a worldwide launch of both, in addition to the brand new Speedfactory AM4NYC, made in Atlanta.

The latest addition to the adidas Speedfactory line is the first publicly available shoe made in the U.S. facility. The upper comes in all black and sits atop a full-length Boost midsole, with a bright red insole to add some color. This pair also includes the NFC chip in the tongue that allows the wearer to tap their phone to it for a more interactive digital experience.
