adidas has been adding a variety of new NMD silhouettes to their already extensive line. Despite this, the brand is making it clear they will stay faithful to the original NMD_R1 with the new “Raw Gold” colorway.

The NMD_R1 is becoming another classic adidas silhouette, and absolutely deserves to be. The shoe is widely available, can be found on the feet of avid collectors and basic consumers alike, and is made in enough colorways for all to find a pair. This year, the Three Stripes is adding depth to their palette, trying new shades of interesting older colors, and using some previously only found in exclusive lines like Kanye’s “Blue Tint” Yeezy Boost, or Pharrell’s NMD Trail Hu. One such colorway to grace the hugely popular NMD_R1 is the upcoming “Raw Gold” iteration. This version sees the knit upper dyed in a cardboard-like brown, while the EVA pods, laces, lining, and heel cap take on the color of raw, unrefined and unpolished gold ore. A third, similar shade of light brown is dispersed throughout the shoe via the heel paneling, tongue logo, eyestays, and triple stripe branding on both lateral and medial sides. The Boost midsole is left unaltered in it’s standard white, finished off by a black outsole.
