The adidas NMD_R1 Primeknit has seen countless variations and colorways since it’s debut back in 2015. Now, the brand is updating the model with the signature glitch camo pattern from its successor, the R2, and as also seen on the CS2.

The adidas NMD_R1 Primeknit is often referred to as one of the most comfortable shoes on the market. The brand knows this, and have released new variations of the shoe monthly to allow anyone who wants a pair to get their hands on them. Next up for March 2018 is a hybrid between the NMD_R1, and it’s successor, the NMD_R2. The shoe retains the same shape as the R1, though it takes on the signature camo pattern that was created for the R2, a future harvest two-toned look. This is a great decision by the adidas Originals team, as the NMD_R1’s silhouette allows for more interesting color blocking than the second NMD. This is because of the original shoe’s midsole EVA pods, of which there are three, as opposed to one on the second generation. More pods mean more spaces to add color and change up the look. The initial NMD_R1 to take on the R2’s signature splotched glitch camo will come with a grey base, broken up by varying black spots and lines. Most of the details of the shoe are black, including the three stripe branding, laces, heel cap, and rear EVA pods. The most interesting details are likely the grey forwards EVA plug and the six lines knit inter the inner ankle collar in a Solar Red color.

The latest addition to the adidas NMD_R1 Primeknit lineup is set to debut later this month on March 15th. The premier black and grey colors stand out with its hint of bright red, along with the static camo pattern. The shoe will retain the usual retail price of $170.
