The adidas BYW line is back. While the first iteration is still releasing in new colorways, we have our first look at the next addition to the franchise. Check out the adidas Crazy BYW LVL 2, arriving in stores soon.
adidas new Boost You Wear technology was in dire need of a new silhouette. Since the launch during All-Star Weekend in February, the technology has only been widely released in one sneaker, the Crazy BYW LVL 1. The high-top shoe was a great start to debut the updated 90’s look, but now, fans of the silhouette are looking for new ways to shoe off the bulbous Boost tech. Finally, adidas has an answer. While the shoe has yet to be officially announced by the brand, we now have an early look at the new Crazy BYW LVL 2.
The next chapter in the Crazy BYW family bears a similar resemblance to the original model, with a new low-top twist. The LVL 2 begins with a neoprene bootie to keep your foot locked in, followed by a double-layered mesh. Next, the toe box and lateral shank feature the same thick Primeknit as the LVL 1, complete with the wavy stitching around the toes as well as the suede patch on the medial shank. Next, the interesting new sole design. The toe and heel Boost pods retain the same shape as their predecessor, while the central section on the lateral side is covered by a large piece of what appears to be TPU. This new addition is assumably used to provide extra structure along the outside of the shoe, something that the LVL 1 somewhat lacked. The first colorway for the Crazy BYW LVL 2 is the same as the first in the franchise. Almost the entire shoe comes in black, while the second layer of mesh in the central sections of the shoe comes in a deep purple tone. The colorway is completed by white nylon lace loops and a three-stripe heel pull-tab.
ADIDAS CRAZY BYW LVL 2 CORE BLACK RELEASE INFORMATION
The release date for the adidas Crazy BYW LVL 2 has changed many times in the past few weeks. Originally scheduled for August 1st, the new silhouette has reappeared on the brand’s release calendar all month. Now, the low-top BYW is finally ready to drop on August 15th, 2018. The new low-top model will retail for $140, similar to its predecessor, and release from both adidas and select retailers.
