adidas and Kanye West have made waves with their diverse footwear offerings. While most pairs are pricey to own these days, adidas is taking the easiest model to find and reworking it for a standard release. Check out the Continental 80’s, coming soon.

The adidas Yeezy Powerphase was one of the most popular casual shoes of last year. The retro feel and very simple styling made it accessible to both sneakerheads and fashion geeks, which helped grow the love for Kanye’s most affordable sneaker. With the Powerphase growing increasingly harder to find, adidas has come up with a new way for everyone to get their hands on the ultra-comfortable tennis sneaker.

This Summer, adidas Originals will introduce the Continental 80’s silhouette back into their rotation. Colloquially referred to as a ‘takedown’ sneaker, the Rascal uses almost the exact same construction as its predecessor, the Powerphase. However, the new version instead adjusts some of the angles and layering, as well as removing the common Three Stripe branding from each side, instead opting for a single dual-toned line running from ankle to toe. Takedown sneakers have become decently common in the modern “Hype” age of sneakers because they allow companies to continue using proven designs but with a lower, more accessible price point or look. Expect the adidas Continental 80’s to be made from smooth leather, making it a great pickup for those who missed out on Kanye’s signature Powerphase.
