adidas’ recent POD System 3.1 has finally been made available, and its receiving plenty of love from the community. Now, adidas prepping the POD for a wider release, including colorways coming exclusively in women’s sizes.

The POD system is not a new technological advancement for adidas. The Point of Deflection system first appeared in the 90’s as an exciting new way to make footwear adaptive to the wearer’s feet. The POD System splits the sole of the shoe into three sections, or PODs, each using their own material and density. The mix of materials and separation of each POD helps to keep the sole as flexible and adaptive as possible, similar to the brand’s Torsion Bar technology. Now, with the POD System 3.1 beginning its initial launch run, the Three Stripes is preparing several new colorways, including some just for women. The first of these is very similar to the men’s grey pair we touched on yesterday. The entire upper is cloaked in adidas’ signature light grey hue, with a clear Mint TPU plater under the midfoot for support. Finally, the shoe is finished off with a white sectional midsole and grey outsole.
