Nike has gone all out on their collaborative projects this year. This month, the brand has finally unleashed the long-rumored collaboration with A COLD WALL*, including the Zoom Vomero 5 and Air Force 1 Low.
Virgil Abloh is not the only Nike collaborator releasing an Air Force 1 Low this week. While Virgil has ruled most of the past year for Nike, their efforts to include a wider range of collaborators has paid off, as the hype around Samuel Ross’s A COLD WALL* continues to grow. Somewhat of a protege to Virgil, Ross started ACW* in London back in 2015, establishing a unique design language for the brand based heavily on London’s quintessential styles and moods. Combining elements like British work uniforms with hand dyeing and Savile Row tailoring, A COLD WALL* has established themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the space between streetwear and high fashion. This week, the UK label is finally unleashing their long-awaited Nike Air Force 1 project on the world. Coming in two casual black and white colorways, each pair combines smooth leather with high-quality suede for an impressive finish. The usual Swoosh has been removed entirely, instead replaced for perforations that form an outline. ACW*’s signature logo adorns the outer side of each toe, as well as the tongue label that peeks through the unusual reworked lacing system.
A COLD WALL* X NIKE AIR FORCE 1 LOW RELEASE INFORMATION
The long-awaited A COld Wall* x Nike Air Force 1 Low is now scheduled to launch on January 10th, 2019, in both white and black colorways. The unusual new Air Force 1 will retail for a hefty $190 price tag, and launch from both Nike and select retailers.
